I'm Back!

Hello World! I am Back! So much has happened since I started this blog. For one we had our beautiful little girl, Evelyn Loraine. So much has changed and yet so much has remained the same. I am here because I need to be here, I need an outlet. I have so many thoughts and feelings and emotions overwhelming myself currently that I need to release. I need to let my mind free. The only way I know how is to come here. So with today being the first day of school for so many littles, I thought what better day to start? So I am back to it! I am hoping it will last long but if it doesn't I will not be too hard on myself. I am here to learn. And this medium is here while I need it. Oh there is so much more to come but right now there is a little girl calling my name. This is going to be raw, unedited emotion. Mostly just unedited :) and that's OK right now. That is what I need. We can clean it up later together. Ahhhh.

Since I have been Home...

Here is a real life conversation that took place in my house since I have not been working...

Adam: Hey Babe, where is the frying pan?

Me: What do you mean where is the frying pan?

Adam: Is it in the dishwasher?

Me: No, we don't wash pans in the dishwasher.

Adam: Well then where is it?

Me: Well, did you check the cupboard?

Adam: I would but I don't know what cupboard it would be in since it is usually still dirty on the stove.

I am not sure if my being home is helping or hindering at this point.

Week 25

We had an appointment on Tuesday and all seems to be going really well! The dr stated that although the ultrasound put me a little earlier she would prefer to keep my November due date so we are still looking forward to baby girl around November 5, four days before my birthday :) Baby's heart rate was great and my measurements were looking good. All results from the ultrasound were A-OK as well so things seem to be moving right along. We also have signed up for classes in September and picked our pediatrician's office. At this point I am sure there are other things I should be doing but with it being my first I am just not quite sure yet. I need to have my glucose test run this week (standard prior to 28 weeks) and then I have one more 4-week appointment. After that I transition into appointments every 2 weeks! I can't believe we are nearing the third trimester! She is going to be here before we know it!

Adam is still feverishly working on remodeling the house. It is quite the undertaking and I am just sooo proud of him for being so motivated! I am sure it can't be easy to work all day and then come home and work on the house well I lounge and nap :) At this point we still need to finish the sunroom (insulate, drywall, put in ceramic tile, and finish), the hallway (finish hung drywall and install and finish flooring), both bedrooms on the main floor (finish hung drywall), and the upstairs (repair a leak we found yesterday :(, finish framing, insulating, hang drywall, install flooring, complete roughed in 1/2 bath, complete the closet, and fix some broken tiles)!!!! It's a pretty extensive list considering we only have about 10 weeks to complete it. In addition, after completion we need to move our bedroom upstairs and get a nursery ready before baby comes! It seems like it is never going to end but I know we will make it work!

As for me, I have just finished school! I completed my last class Thursday 7/21/11 and am now a graduate of Davenport University with a Bachelors in Business and my specialty is Marketing. It feels so great to be done but it is weird to not be working. I am still transitioning into a "homemaker" role which sometimes is beyond me. I just don't understand how we could keep up on housework while I was working but now I am home full time and it still seems to get out of control. I think I need to create a better system and work on some time management but I am sure it will come! I am undertaking some minor crafts in the house and trying to make it more home-y. We shall see how it all turns out!

Baby's food size? Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga!

Total weight gain/loss: +3.5 lbs!

Maternity clothes? Now that I am home I can mostly just wear my yoga pants around the house and they are the most comfortable. But if I do have to go out I am wearing maternity clothes.

Stretch marks? Yes, and they just keep coming :(

Sleep: Still mostly sound. Sometimes her movements wake me up.

Best moment this week: Napping :)

Food cravings: Yesterday I was dying for and iced coffee.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not so much anymore.

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? Still in but getting pretty shallow.

Wedding rings on or off? Off :(

Happy or Moody most of the time: Still happy.

Week 24 - A slight melt-down and a little humor

So this week is week twenty-fricken-four! In case your math skills are as good as mine that is SIX MONTHS! I cannot believe that it has gone by so fast! I remember anxiously being seven weeks pregnant and thinking I would die before week twelve came around. Now I am all the way to week 24! That is just insane to me that I have survived this far.

I would say the most deceptive thing about being six months pregnant is that before you have a baby you would think that you only have 3 months left (9 months - 6 months = 3 months). Come to find out when you are pregnant that is all just a big cruel joke! Being 24 weeks means we have another 16 weeks to go which (again with the mad math skills) is 4 months! So not fair! This counting week/month thing must have been thought up by a man!

Other than my irritation with pregnancy math, things overall have been going well. Baby girl seems to be doing good. I can feel her moving a lot and she gets irritated when I lean against things like the table or the sink while doing dishes and starts kicking! My belly is starting to feel like a watermelon and I feel huge. Please see below for this weeks meltdown:

me:  omg overnight i got PREGNANT serious business
 Adam:  hah
me:  i am HUGE - like a HOUSE
Adam:  baby i am sure it hasnt changed much
me:  so i always looked like a house? b/c even my stretchy tank tops aren't fitting right now and unless all my clothes magically shrunk my self is going to need a permit because i am soo big. this is what i get for getting dressed i am going back to pjs pronto i look ridiculous. lets put it this way - my legs look skinny in comparison to my body... I DON'T HAVE SKINNY LEGS!!!!!!
Adam:  hah i guess i will see in about 45 minutes

Week 21-22 ish and Gender Announcement!

So this week we had our ultrasound! Everything has been going pretty well for the most part, I started getting really bad heartburn and had some other issues but other than that we are doing well! I am taking it easy for the next couple of days but then should be back to normal. The ultrasound did show that baby is about a week ahead of where we thought so our new due date is 10/30/11! Just in time for Halloween!

Adam has gone into baby overdrive I am pretty sure and is tearing apart the whole house! We made a hallway out to our sun room and framed in some other useless doors. He is also working on revamping the upstairs so that we can move up there with baby. There is a lot of construction going on in my house but all seems to be going really well. I am really impressed with how motivated and how much skill and energy Adam is putting into the house for baby :)
